A white Xmas in Arnold
I am from Europe and had never used VRBO before. Scott and his wife made me happy I did ;). My daughter and I were keen on spending some fun and hopefully snow-filled holidays together and it all worked out. The preparation track before the holiday was smooth, helpful and chockfull of information provided by Scott. Every question was answered promptly with extra added info on top. It made me feel at ease to fly over. Upon arrival we found a warm welcoming house with all the amenities and a set of Xmas stockings with surprises for both of us. Super! The kitchen of a professional cook with all its tools and trinkets makes for fun cooking and with three cozy bedrooms and two bathrooms the only nightmare is choosing which one to use. On the table was a quick reference manual with everything you wanted to know but forgot to ask about the house, the village and the things to do in and around Arnold. Handy! The house has good wifi and a dedicated TV room with classic movies on DVD and video and a huge set (with Netflix) in the living room can make for cozy family time. A wood stove makes you forget the digital world when making puzzles or reading a book. Scott stays in touch or is available throughout for questions, help or advice which was great. On a par with the house is its location. Really quiet and high up the slopes of the village close to the Arnold Rim trail. With a two minute walk you are in the redwood forrest to forget about civilisation, but an equal five-minute drive brings you down into the village close to a well-stocked supermarket and all the things you need. Add some friendly neighbours, the gem of a ski resort higher up in the hills and the charm of Murhpys' caves, boutiques and wineries lower in the valley and little can go wrong. Highly recommended for fun family time! We'll be back.
