Good place for grandparents and kids
Ashley's place worked very well for our week with our children and grandchild (7 years old). It is set up so that there is a bedroom, bathroom, and living/eating area on each side of the house that connect through the kitchen. So each family had some space and some privacy, but we could spend as much time as we wanted together. There is a large yard for running. We took advantage, of course, of the excitement of trains, museums, cable cars and the bay easily accessible through nearby public transport. There is also one of the best parks I've seen only a ten-minute car ride away, at Heather Farm in Walnut Creek. It is a free public park, with terrific play equipment, picnic tables, a large pond with waterfowl, and plenty of room to run. The swimming pool charges an entrance fee. Ashley's place worked quite well for us, a great place for children. It should get 4.5 stars, with the remaining half seasonal. There is no a/c, and it was very warm our first two days, which coincided with a heat wave. The rest of the week was fine.
