The house is okay, Not worth the per night cost as it stands now.
After reading the summary of the home before renting I was excited cause I thought it was a rock n roll house with memorabilia. We could see the hollywood sign. I understood it was an older home and not the ritz. Which I actually stay at at least once a year in half moon bay. However, there was no real memorabilia in the house. Pros- Very quiet, Very close to Universal and you don't have to get on the freeway, some obstructed views of the city below. Lots of sleeping areas, the owners were nice and accommodating. * The house was pretty clean, towels and sheets were nice. * Nice fridge in kitchen Cons- * No real rock memorabilia to speak of to make it a rock n roll house, walls are pretty empty, Its all in a historical sense. *No screens on any doors so all the mosquitos come in the house which is not great cause there is no central AC and now you have to have all the windows and glass doors closed cause there are a lot of mosquitos. *The paint and wall paper in upstairs bathroom peeling(minor) * squished mosquitos on walls that aren't cleaned up. *While they have a spa getting it on and off is not worth the hassle since you have to walk and open a fence and its not convenient. So, after a long day at universal and the spa would be nice its not worth the hassle. *beds upstairs have no frames. Which mean they are a bit hard since the box spring is on the floor. Although the Master mattress is a memory foam and it is nice but still no frame to lift it * All bedrooms upstairs get hot. He does have fans which helps. * there is a super old and very loud wall unit AC in Master but you can't sleep with it and the loud fan I put in the Mstr. cause its to loud to sleep. * Not enough hot water. - You better schedule the showers cause for as many people that the house can fit it can't accommodate for everyone to take a shower in the morning *You can only see the Hollywood sign from 2 spots in the house and its out of the same 2nd story window. If you use your zoom on your camera you can get a pretty decent picture. You cannot see the sign from any other area except if you go outside and walk a bit. Cause the backyard is to sloped to see anything from the back of the house. Not sure where the main picture is taken from but I thought that was the view from the house but its not In conclusion, once you take away the view of the sign and the rock n roll factor. You are left with an old house and in my opinion its not worth the cost per night as it stands
