A great place to stay in Vancouver
Stayed at Tom's condo for three nights Aug. 27 - 29th, 2016 - a last minute trip to Vancouver with my daughter before she went back to University. As both of us have allergies, we were pleased to see that it has hardwood floors throughout which were spotless. The kitchen was fully equipped and we enjoyed being able to cook a nice salmon dinner one night, pasta and a salad another and a quick pizza the third - sure beats paying hotel prices for food! Granville Market is a great place to pick up fresh seafood and vegetables. All the pots, pans and baking sheets you would ever need to cook a dinner were there. As was the case with the rest of the condo, the kitchen was very clean. You have probably picked up on the fact that cleanliness is very important to us and this condo got top marks in that category. Coffee (made with a Tassimo pod coffee maker) in the early morning on the patio with all its greenery was nice as was a glass of wine on the patio after dinner. There was a BBQ on the patio, but we chose not to use it. My daughter had the master bedroom and I slept on the murphy bed in the guest bedroom - no complaints about the mattresses. Bathroom was good, and unlike some places I have stayed previously, there was more than enough pressure from the shower head. The condo is located in a nice district with several other condos in the immediate area. Not knowing Vancouver that well, I would say that it was a nice middle class district - not waterfront, but then again the price isn't waterfront pricing. Although we didn't have time for walks at night (we were enjoying our home cooked meals and the patio), I think that I would be comfortable going for a stroll in the area - be prepared for some pretty steep hills though. Convenient location to Granville Island (we were told you could walk it but we always drove as we squeezed several activities into each outing). The secure and well lit underground parking is a real plus, as the streets were lined with vehicles, presumably from the other condos. All in all a very pleasant experience and one that my daughter and I will remember. Several times during our stay we commented on how much nicer it was to come back to Tom's condo rather than a hotel room after a full day of activities. May head out to Vancouver for another 4 day break, but this time with my wife . Would definitely have no hesitation about staying at Tom's condo again. Michael and Rowan Calgary,
