The biggest problems we had were pre-arrival. I had to harass the owner to get check-in procedures, and the owner didn't know how to use the VRBO/Homeaway system. The property is not well-maintained. We were probably the guests before Preeti, and the food products in the kitchen were there when we arrived as well. The shower stall is filthy and old, probably a professional cleaning service would solve most of the problems here, but I'm not sure the owner is using ANY cleaning service. While we were there, the toilet chain broke. The owner had no contacts in the area (or handyman on call), and we ended up fixing it ourselves (we were compensated for the part cost by the owner). The door to the bathroom doesn't really close, or it does, but you have to slam it so hard it isn't worth it, and then you have to try very hard to open it afterwards. The place advertises small appliances, but there is no coffee pot (really? *sigh*). The place is several blocks farther from the beach than is marked on the map. There is a fold-out couch that is more of a futon (it is leather). There are no instructions provided for how to access the internet (which is an advertised feature). When I reached out to the homeowner, she told me the router is upstairs in the other apartment. Turns out the tenant upstairs is paying for her own internet and the landlord is selling the internet to you as part of renting this place. This is abhorrent, dishonest business practices that are frankly unacceptable and I would not recommend staying at this property.
