Luxury on a budget
The pictures of this studio guest house can not catch its charm and beauty. It looks like they've just remodeled, but I know we're not the first guests. The granite countertops in the kitchen are spectacular. The appliances look new. The bathroom has marble tile and a granite seat in the 2 shower head shower. The ceiling is vaulted with a silent ceiling fan over a comfy queen bed. Hardwood floors with cushy rugs. I could go on and on. Loved our time there! This guest house is located about 30 minutes outside downtown DC, but traffic was't an issue for us. What a relaxing change from the noise of the city. This neighborhood is quiet! No cars honking, no sirens, no traffic noise at all. Just birds. I wish we could have come when the gardens were in bloom. I recognized roses, flowering shrubs, and perienials still dormant. The yard reaches Swan Creek which is a tributary of the Potomic. We could see the lighthouse from Fort Washington, which prompted a short drive to see it. Mount Vernon is directly across the Potomic from Fort Washington. History in the back yard! Paulette, thank you for being a wonderful host. Shari and Grace H.
