Pet-friendly home off the beaten path
Will was a great host. He called ahead to warn us about the potential hurricane weather and offered to give us a refund. We were brave and went anyway with our 2 dogs (lab & golden retriever). We enjoyed hiking at Chimney Rock and exploring downtown Asheville, and the food was also great wherever we went. It was wonderful to have a kitchen at the house, and they supplied everything we needed to make breakfast the days we were there (and the Dollar General just up the road was very convenient for buying food). The dogs loved the big backyard, and we liked that the house was set back from the road. It was a little tricky to find the first time, but after that we had no problems getting there after a day out exploring. The local fruit and honey stand was a great treasure to find. It does get very dark at night, so we were grateful for the flashlights in case we needed to go outside for the dogs or to get something from the car. My only criticism is that the beds were very hard and the double bed is pretty small for two adults.
