Great family cabin!
This was a great cabin for our family of 5 (3 kids ages 6-10 and 2 adults). It was within walking distance to the lake, although we drove as we had our kayak with us. The cabin was cozy, clean, and had all we needed to cook many of our meals at the house. Check out the farmer's market on Saturdays for excellent local produce, and the local Mar-Val Grocery Store was packed with anything else we needed (with a lot of organic produce and natural items). Yosemite valley is only about an hour drive, and the kids loved swimming in the river there. Stay for dinner in the Ahwahnee Hotel's incredible main dining room for a treat, or just get an ice cream in the gift shop and hang out on the lawn and gaze up at the amazing mountains that rim the valley. Pine Mountain Lake also has a pool, stables, golf, and archery (BYO archery set though). The kids loved the pool table, there is a small BBQ at the house for s'mores, and Netflix was available for movies. The driveway to the cabin would not work for trailers, and I don't think you can park on the street? There are 3-4 stairs to the front door and two bedrooms/1 bath are on the second floor (nice view of the trees from the front bedroom upstairs), so wheelchair users would have a hard time without help. The upstairs bedrooms have nice balconies (if you have young children the balcony doors are outfitted with flip locks up high on the doors so they can't get out easily). A tub is in the downstairs bathroom and a shower only is upstairs. Laundry facilities were great to have (located in the bunk bed room) and laundry soap is included. Doug was terrific and very helpful! We will definitely be back!
