Restful retreat on the Mesa
We were four grown-ups - two couples in our seventies, getting together for a small reunion. We had a wonderful time. Waking up in the mornings to see the sun streaming across the mesa, sitting on the porch in the evenings watching the light fading over the magnificent mountains, sitting down to Federico's gourmet meals each night - all this made for a marvellous restful experience. It should also be noted that life in the chalet - isolated as it is - is of necessity somewhat rustic. Electricity is not constant and water has to be fairly carefully preserved. This means that some of the activities offered are not always available. For example, what looks like a swimming pool In the photos, is not really a swimming pool. The upstairs sleeping arrangements are somewhat cramped. In the end, we did not mind this; the softness of the air, the pleasure of the long walks along the roads, and Federico's unending solicitousness and attention to our needs, meant that we had a beautiful and restful stay. Federico has made an extraordinary oasis on the mesa.
