Thanksgiving Vacation
After reading the Sept. 2015 review about the cleanliness of the home, I was a little hesitant. The carpets were clean in November and there was no longer a microwave in the master bathroom counter. The drawers and cupboards continued to have clutter in many of them and some of the furniture was in need of repair. Hand towels and tea towels were few, so we donated a few kitchen dish towels. However, our family had a delightful time cooking our Thanksgiving meal in the huge kitchen with double ovens, large roasters, pie plates, and pretty bowls to make our holiday meal possible and festive. The grandchildren LOVED the Alhambra water dispenser and the many rooms to explore and play in. The refrigerator did have lots of condiments left from previous guests, however, was easily rearranged and we were able to store food for 15 people for 3 days inside of the spacious compartments. There was lots of counter and prep space for 6 people cooking at the same time. The family members really appreciated the amount of the comfortable furniture and the different rooms to hold many concurrent conversations. The backyard has the pool (too cold to use in November), but our grandchildren and dogs loved the large grassy area for running, throwing balls, and enjoying the beautiful fresh air. The front yard was missing lighting by the steps and I did almost trip, but there was plenty of parking available in the large driveway and in the street. The location was wonderful with Whole Foods just a few blocks away and a major shopping center for Black Friday deals just a few blocks more. The owner was helpful and easy to reach—but he would be better served with a new--more efficient housekeeping service.
