Stunning Victorian plantation home on the big Island of Hawaii
We really and truly enjoyed our stay at this beautiful Victorian home in the subdivision known as orchidland it's called that because of all the baby orchids growing around the property as I found out later. This home is spacious and very reminiscent of the early plantation homes that the missionaries built during the sugarcane heyday of the Hawaiian islands Lots of room for my friends and family which was nice for our annual family gathering The Viking range allowed us to cook large meals with a gourmet touch The outside sauna was large enough to accommodate six people comfortably and it was a pleasant surprise after a day of sightseeing, hiking visiting the volcano or skin diving and snorkeling it gave the property a spa feeling along with the Jacuzzi tub in the master bathroom The garage has been converted into an open-air exercise and rec room Above the garage there is a wonderful granny flat loft with kitchenette and a full bathroom which created a nice autonomous space for those in our group who needed a little bit of extra privacy The house worked very well for folks who just wanted to stay around and read a good book as well. With a large lanai surrounding three sides of the house. Even the occasional rain was entertaining and then the sun was out before we knew it A large grassy yard about a half an acre in size graces the front of the house. The roads are fully paved up to about the last quarter mile just drive slow the road is very adequate and lends itself to the overall privacy of the home In short I really enjoyed my stay and did a lot of healing I plan to come back every year for two weeks to a month to this wonderful wonderful place One satisfied customer
