Nice unit and great complex!
Overall, a great place to stay. Kona Makai is quiet, beautiful grounds, great pool. Close proximity to Kona town. I've stayed at this complex before, but first time at this unit. Being a top floor unit, getting luggage, groceries, etc. can be a bit difficult, but doable for mobile folks. The unit itself shows some wear, as do rentals that are not usually owner occupied. Could use some paint, new/cleaned carpet, etc. Would have been helpful to have an information sheet there for unit/complex specifics. For example, pool hours (9am--9pm) and especially a note as to where the controls are for the fans (in the master bedroom closet!). There is wifi, but it's for the entire complex, not unit specific, so basically worthless alot of the time due to traffic. The A/C is not central, but there are units in the living room and the bedroom. Just wanting to share tips and clarifications on things. The master bed is pretty soft. View from lanai is very nice...chairs are not that comfortable for long term sitting due to rigidity. Basic kitchen supplies, but not the best quality (very dull knives). I'd stay again, but would also look at other units in the complex. Green Flash Coffee nearby is a good place to grab a cup, or a breakfast treat.
