I chose to stay here with a group of friends for a weekend getaway to go skiing in Bear Valley. Pluses were the location, the price, the hot tub, the outdoor heater, and the prompt communication from Scott. The place is definitely unique and old-fashioned homey-- lots of old family photos, memorabilia, and trinkets collected over the years that make for interesting conversation. I was a little disappointed with the state of repair and cleanliness of the house, however...I hate to point it out, but we arrived to dishes in the sink, trash in the trashcan, broken blinds, etc. While the house was not dirty, it didn't look completely well-maintained and clean either (a bit dusty). Maybe it's because it's an old house, but I must say we didn't receive the same feeling of hospitality that the other reviewers mentioned. Also, note that the posting says the place sleeps up to 10 people, but there are only real beds for 8 people max-- I made that mistake and didn't realize that we'd have to use an airbed (provided by Scott) for two people. In the end, the sleeping arrangements were fine, but just thought someone booking should be aware of this. Also, be sure to double-check on kitchen items because some things listed on the posting were out.
