Lovely place with a few (fixable) problems
I was waiting for the office to get back in touch with me regarding my "gift certificate" but they have not responded so I will explain what happened here. The place is very cozy and in a very good location. I stayed with my 3 children and 2 dogs for the 3 days leading up to Thanksgiving. I am a single Mom, work full time, just out of a ton of stress from a court situation with my ex husband. I really needed to get away and relax. Woke up that first morning and no coffee pot (???!!) but I decided to try a day without caffeine and it wasn't so bad, however I really wanted my coffee the next morning. I called the office and the person who answered was moderately rude and cited the busy week as a reason why the unit wasn't stocked with this essential item. Next problem: towels. We wanted to use the hot tub upon our arrival. The towels are literally the size of a large washcloth or dish towel. Yep. And there were only 4 of them. Hmmm let's think ... 4 people, 3 days, 4 towels. OK. So let's use the washing machine to wash our little band aid towels. OH! But wait, no detergent. I called the office to inquire and once again, got the answer that it was a busy week, those were the towels they provided, there wasn't any service and no detergent. Finally I drove into town on Day 2 and talked with them. The women in the office were very sweet and actually gave me their own coffee pot (mind you, with one day to go of the trip)... They said contrary to what the first person told me, there WERE bigger towels but we just didn't get them. They made it right on Day 3, about 3 hours before we were supposed to leave, a delivery of towels was left outside. Too little too late. We had been drying ourselves with clothing and then using the detergent I purchased in town to wash our clothes. SO. Suggestions -1. Make sure the coffee pot is in the unit.2. People need towels at Sea Ranch. Not hand towels for their body, but real towels. At least 2 per person. If you are going to leave one per person, please leave detergent. Had I known the towel situation I would have just brought my own towels. I have never stayed in a place where you get one towel for 3 days. Other than all that, we had a lovely stay. The place is nice and the hot tub is a big bonus. (If only we had towels and didn't need to dry off with our pants.......) I am waiting to hear back as I was promised a gift certificate for these troubles but no one is communicating with me even though I have emailed....
