What we needed and more!
We came desperate to shed some urban stress. This beautiful casita is located at the edge of a tiny town once you enter its gates you feel like you have the desert to yourself. Borrego Springs is surrounded by the mountains and badlands of Anza-Borrego State Park. The casita is thoughtfully decorated and feels brand new. Perfect for two people. Equipped with hot tub, pool, bike rack and fire pit, it was conducive to a relaxing vacation. We hiked, biked and took long drives into the country side by day and hot tubbed at night. We made s'mores in the fire pit. One word of advice on food. First, if you are going to cook, you might shop outside Borrego Springs, in the big city. There is a small grocery store with fresh meat and produce but selection is limited and prices are high. Also, the casitas kitchen is small, making elaborate meals difficult to prepare. No oven. Just a hot plate and a microwave. But Linda makes sure you have the rest. We prepared much of our own food. If you don't want to cook there are a number of restaurants in town. The quality varies but we ate well. I highly recommend this lovely experience. Linda and Bob's slice of paradise. Hotels just don't cut it anymore!
