Stars, Loons and S'mores
We would definitely stay at Rick's place again. The place is right on the water. We canoed, kayaked, and I even took an October dip in Lake Winnisquam. The night skies and the sunrises were spectacular. We saw and heard loons every day. Barred Owls called during a family S'mores cookout. We came at a great time of the year (first full-week of October) - the leaves were changing, the lake was quiet, the weather was perfect. We took an easy and beautiful drive to the White Mountains - trees along the Kancamangus Highway were nearing peak. The chipmunks kept our dog Henry busy. Rick provided all the information we needed to find his spot and local amenities. If you like shopping, a big outlet mall is about 20 minutes away. We only needed one bedroom, but there were 2 more bedrooms, plus a futon, so more people could have stayed. The WiFi worked with no problems. Everything we needed to cook our own meals (besides food) was provided. This lake house was just what we wanted for our vacation and we returned home relaxed, rejuvenated, and a little homesick for Lake Winnisquam.
