Sweet suite at top of Crooked Lake
We spent 5 nights in this cute suite in a very well-kept condo complex. The suite looks exactly as it does in the pictures, but the pictures don't show one nice feature--a tall patio table with two chairs right outside the door on the covered sidewalk/porch. The condo was clean and well equipped; unless you are a picky sleeper, the Murphy bed is fine--very firm but we slept well every night. The only suggestions I would make would be detailed instructions on how to use the TV (for those of us who don't have Direct TV or a similar service) and blackout curtains. Many of the units have them; the nice lights outside that come on automatically at night and go off at dusk cannot be turned off. They make you feel very safe and secure but also seep in through the miniblinds so the studio is never really dark at night, which could be a problem for some people who need a dark bedroom. The views of the lake are amazing and the lawn and dock have lots of nice places to sit or stretch out. Highway 31 is on the other side of the condo and it is very busy, but after awhile, you don't really notice the highway noise when you are outside. You definitely don't hear it inside. There is a little breakfast place (Park Place) within walking distance (you can get there on the walking/bike trail--just ask someone how to find it or get a map). It seems very popular with locals and visitors. Opens at 6--we had a huge breakfast there and it was good--nothing gourmet but enough protein to last a big part of the day.
