Clean and comfortable
My sister, nephew and I were visiting Niagra Falls for two nights and came across this cottage while searching for places to stay. It is a fantastic alternative to a hotel as we would need at least two rooms; it is just as nice as a hotel and less expensive. Plus, it has a full kitchen and a great front porch on which to relax with morning coffee. Located in a quiet, working class neighborhood on a dead-end street, it is within 10 minutes of the falls, and it's also within 10 minutes of Lewiston, a great little town with restaurants & shops (highly recommend going here to get out of the touristy Niagra area). The cottage seems to be very recently renovated and is extremely well-appointed with everything we needed. The owner was very easy to contact and was prompt in her responses. As for Niagra Falls itself, we just did the Maid of the Mist which was very enjoyable. We parked in Lot 3 on Goat Island - it was free - and paid the $3 a person for the trolley which took us to the other part of the state park where the Maid is located. The trolley is a great way to save $10-$20 in parking fees and get out of the super high congested parking areas - the trolleys came by every five minutes. We visited on a Sunday in late July, so I'm expecting it was peak tourist time, and we could tell. Very crowded. We traveled about 20 minutes up the highway to Youngstown to take a ride on the Whirlpool Jet Boats. It was fantastic and worth very penny!
