Good beach camping experience
The camper and the property met our needs for our stay at Edisto Beach. We did have an issue with the AC but the owner responded immediately and resolved the issue. We paid for a week pass to the state park and went to the beach there every day. It was about 2 miles from the property and was easy to get to and a great beach for skiddie boarding, boogie boarding, sharks tooth hunting and all the other beach activities. We also got Kayaks through the owner and they were delivered and picked up from where we kayaked. As my husband said we had an "epic adventure". I brought blankets and pillows for the boys and was glad I did as there were just the 2 pillows on the main bed and bottom sheets for the pull out beds. The owner is very responsive and if you have questions about what is in the camper and what you need to bring, just ask and he will let you know. I also brought paper plates and plastic utensils and was glad I did. There are some dishes and utensils in the camper but bringing the throw away ones meant we had less dishes to hand wash. In retrospect I would have brought more towels. I only brought 5 and with 5 of us and beach time and showers it was not enough. I think that anyone who chooses to stay here needs to realize that it is a camper and that you are camping at the beach and with that comes sand, salt, etc. The owner has done a nice job trying to make the campsite look "homey" with outdoor decorations, the fire pit and outdoor shower. The outdoor shower was very nice and we all enjoyed it. I would have liked to have a grill other than the fire pit to cook on because using the inside oven warmed up the camper and cooking on the fire pit was a little tough. I already mentioned this to the owner and I would not be surprised if he adds one before the next renters. We did not have issues with the toilet or any horrible smell. It is a camp toilet and needs to be used accordingly. All in all we enjoyed our stay.
