First of all, the owners' communication was awesome. She let us know the process every step of the way and getting into the house was easy. The house itself is somewhat lacking. My sister and I came to Portland with the intent of doing a lot of TV binge watching and reading. There is an apple TV so we were able to watch a ton of Netflix or airplay from my iPad, so that was fantastic. There are two sofas in the living room, neither of which were comfortable and there isn't a comfy chair in the whole house. The IKEA decor is OK, but their pillows, both on the sofa and the beds were terrible, totally lacking in any support whatsoever. My neck still hurts two weeks later. the beds themselves, however, were fine. The downstairs bathroom looks lovely, and the shower is wonderful, however, it is a downstairs bathroom with NO window coverings. None. Not even frosted glass to blur the nudity. The windows also do not operate properly and one had no handle to open it at all. Those same windows also do not lock thereby creating a security risk for the occupants. The light over the sink is so low that I could not stand up all the way to do my makeup. The kitchen lacks basic necessities like measuring cups, rubber scrapers, or a simple pancake turner. The shelves where the dishes are kept were dusty. There was a pot in the cupboard that clearly had not been washed and stank terribly (but came clean in the dishwasher). Many of the potted plants were dead or dying, so why even have them there? My sister and I had an ok stay, but nothing special and not a place we'd return to.
