Beautiful home, very nice owner
We stayed at Dora's apartment the weekend before Christmas. The apartment was beautifully decorated both in general and for Christmas. Generally, I don't like to travel near Christmas because places are impersonal and do not make you feel like being in "the Christmas spirit". Dora's apartment had very nice touches (a Christmas tree, candles and other decorations; water bottles in the refrigerator; chocolates on the counter). The weekend we were there was extremely cold (high one day was 5 degrees) and the apartment was colder than desirable. The water pipes to the kitchen sink froze so we had to get water for coffee, cooking, and washing up from the bathrooms. Because of the location of the water pipes, this may or may not be a problem throughout the winter. I was surprised that we did not get a reduction in the cost because of the inconvenience of having no water in the kitchen. The beds were very comfortable and the set up of the apartment was convenient. There is no table for dining and only 4 tall chairs for eating at the kitchen counter, so if you choose to eat together, your options (for more than 4 people) is to either have some people stand to eat at the counter (the option we chose) or to eat holding your plates and sitting on the sofa, the rocking chair, and 2 kitchen table chairs. One suggestion -- bring slippers. The floors are tile and cold (at least in the winter).
