Owners of this property are more concerned with income than comfort.
While ours was a unique circumstance, and not representative of all stays at Copper Mountain, the property owners were not helpful with our concerns, and I will certainly never use a property of theirs again. We hosted a wedding at Copper in March. As it happened we rented their property for the 88 year old grandmother of the bride. As it also happened, in their property the top of the mattress was about 14 inches in height; too low for an 88 year old woman to try and climb in and out of bed. We contacted the owners (had to go through the property management company first), and they were not only less than helpful, they were snarky about their response, claiming, and I am quoting, "I didn't realize there was a standard bed height so I did not have that listed" (speaking of their VRBO listing not referring to the bed height). My response was that while I don't know if there is an "industry standard," there certainly is an expected height range for the average sized person, and to not provide an adequate bed is just not acceptable. While I realize that at the last minute they could not necessarily go out an buy a new bed frame (well, maybe they could have, but....), they offered NOTHING in the way of trying to make accommodations, no compensation, nothing (I personally can think of many things that would have appeased me and at least let me know that they cared about the outcome). I have used many VRBOs, particularly at Copper and in Frisco. This is the only one that I felt was really poor. Most have be absolutely great, and accommodating. All have had an adequate, and appropriate bed height for a average sized person (heck, if I had to deal with a low bed, I wouldn't have liked that either. It seem like common sense to me). Poor accommodations, plus less than helpful attitude, means no repeat business from me.
