Wonderful stay at South Fork Lodge
My boyfriend and I stayed here for three nights over New Year's weekend. We checked in late after dark but the directions provided were easy to follow and the cabin was heated and waiting for us! The welcome champagne was a nice bonus! Loved the Christmas decorations even though it was past Christmas :) It made the love feel like home. The location on the Skykomish River is perfect for a getaway from the city. We felt like we were in a winter wonderland! I took some amazing photos of the freshly fallen snow! A four wheel drive car is a must in winter / snow conditions. The road to the house was covered with packed snow. The roads were also narrow/one lane and there were some small slopes/inclines. The hot tub was perfect after a day of snowboarding! The hot tub did have a hard time staying at the set temp of 104 on the colder nights (it was below freezing outside!), but it was still nice to be able to soak in. We appreciated the stocked kitchen for making some meals and the foil and zip loc bags were appreciated as well as these are things we don't normally pack but came in handy! We stayed on the bottom floor, which has a shared foyer entrance with the top floor, but otherwise is a private unit. The top floor was only rented for one of the three nights we were there. We were able to hear people moving around upstairs so it might be an issue if the top renters are noisy and if you're sensitive to noise. We were not bothered by the noise. Overall, we had a great stay and I'd recommend this place to my friends and family!
