Condo was very nice, clean and well-equipped but neighbors were loud on NYE
Condo was lovely and very well-equipped, modern and clean. The bed was very comfortable, although the rental advertised said two twin beds that could be pushed apart, and the one I got had only one queen. It did have a sofa bed, however, which we ended up using. Sheets and towels, including beach towels, were all there in the condo. The kitchen was modern and very well equipped with all kinds of pots and pans, plates, bowls, glasses, silverware and even tupperware. Even a spice rack, sugar, oil and vinegar. Everything worked very well, including the TV. All the condos are laid out with the lanai facing the ocean at the far end from where you enter, then the living room, open plan kitchen, bathroom, and bedroom is to the back of the condo just as you enter the door. The only problem with this layout is that it can be noisy for sleeping, as the bedroom is adjacent to the parkinglot and the stairs and entries for all the other units, so you hear people when they come home late. There is no AC, just fans, so generally you have your windows open above the bed right out to the parking lot. This was not generally a problem, except on New Years Eve the residents of the condo right next door to us decided to come home drunk at 2 AM and proceeded to stay up talking loudly until 3 AM. There were more than two of them, it seemed, so it was a bit loud. The on site management tries to address these issues as quickly as possible, and signs are clearly posted indicating quiet hours from 10 AM - 8 AM, but sometimes people are just loud, and it was NYE. That was the only night it was a problem - it was pleasantly quiet and not very crowded the majority of our stay. There are coffee and donuts Friday mornings. It seems like perhaps half the people live there full time, which is very nice. Parking is free and we never had a problem finding a spot. No elevator, but it's only 3 stories. Very small pool, which no one seems to use, but the beach is only a few feet away. Be careful swimming to the right, there are submerged rocks, but the beach is lovely and not very crowded. This was far nicer and quieter than Kaanapali beach or any of the big resorts in Wailea just down the way. It's very centrally located, also, only feet from the Times supermarket and a strip mall with many good restaurants and even the post office and UPS are an easy walk. We were unable to check out early on New Years Day, which surprised me. Good place to stay.
