Fall in Estes Park
We arrived on a sunny and hot day in late September. The property is just like it was described. Our GPS was able to find the location, but we did follow the provided directions (highly recommended). The driveway is very hard to get into, especially with a mid-sized SUV. However, it is well lit at night, but I suggest a daylight arrival. We did get used to it by about the 3rd day when we left. The home is beautifully decorated in cabin decor. Charming and very homey. The large TV with satellite was a bonus! The couch is in great shape and very comfortable. We did not find a home book with instructions about WIFI passwords, etc. I texted the owners and they responded immediately. My only negative comment and why I gave 4 stars (I would give a 4.5 if I could) is that the house was HOT. The large windows that face south (with the wonderful view!) do not have window coverings and it was at least 90 inside the house. We opened the windows that had screens (many are missing) and could not get a cross breeze to cool the place off. We found a floor fan in the closet, but it doesn't oscillate and was really loud. Too loud to have in the bedroom at night. Ceiling fans are desperately needed. Also would be really nice if there was a cover on the deck or at least an umbrella. It's too hot to sit out there from about 2pm until sunset, and this was in September. I can't even imagine what it's like in July. The kitchen is set up to feed an army! Tons of plates and cooking appliances available. This was very welcome! We spent most of our time in Rocky Mountain National Park. The colors were turning and the elk were in rut. Wonderful!
