Everything we hoped for and more!!
Having never used VRBO before, I was a little nervous to book a 2 month stay, especially because this particular stay would be our home to transition us from living on the mainland to living in Hawaii. Nothing like making that leap, putting down a huge deposit and not being completely certain when you arrive that you truly have a place to live! Or, if it is a real place, is it actually a roach motel all dressed up pretty for the pictures?! Well, I breathed a huge sigh of relief when we arrived. Everything was perfect from the moment we arrived to the day we sadly moved on to our long-term home. Only sadly because we will miss living so close to the unit owners who became friends during our 2 month stay. If we ever had questions, they were super accessible but weren't hovering when we didn't need them. What you need to know - pet friendly (this was HUGE for us since we have a cat), full kitchen with everything you might need, personal washer and dryer on the awesome back porch, quiet, friendly small building (since we were looking for work and then starting our new jobs, it was important that there weren't loud party neighbors surrounding us), grocery store directly across the street, if you are lucky, you *might* be able to get a parking space for your stay in the building parking lot, but they are usually all booked. We used the garage at the Waikiki Banyan for $120/mo. It's several blocks away, but hey the weather's always nice, so what's a little walk! The unit is tiny for sure, but they maximize every inch so it has everything you'll possibly need. They even have a boogie board, a beach bag, a couple of nice beach chairs and beach towels. The main Waikiki beach is super nearby as is the canal for evening strolls. There is A/C, but you hardly need it because there is a great cross-breeze. Also, it is on the top floor (3rd) with no elevator, so you have to be able to climb stairs. The bed is super comfortable, which was also very important to us because I have back issues, but this bed was heaven! I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone and can't believe how inexpensive it was compared to other options in the area. It made me a bit nervous at first wondering why it was so cheap, but sometimes you just have to try the too good to be true option because when it pays off, you win big! I hope you enjoy this place as much as we did :)
