My husband and I stayed at The Yurt for 4 nights. We had an incredible time! The Yurt is secluded with amazing views, plenty of trails--they aren't kidding when they say there are trails right at your doorstep--and only about a 10-15 minute drive back to the town of Cedaredge, if you need. We spent one entire day just exploring the property (via a trail along a creek) and its adjoining BLM acreage (via an ATV trail with wonderful views). It's also a relatively short drive to Grand Mesa and Black Canyon of the Gunnison, which both make great day trips. One of our friendly hosts, George, showed us the inner-workings of the Yurt (you will need to do the smallest amount of work possible to maintain electricity--turn on the generator for ~10 minutes/day), then let us be for the remainder of our stay, though they were very close if we needed anything (we didn't, but I know they'd have taken care of us if we had). The Yurt is stocked with plenty of blankets, wood, water, and information about the surrounding areas. There is a full kitchen and a grill outside for dining in (you may have to light some pilots yourself, but hey, you're on an adventure anyway). Super extra bonus: a shower and toilet. Indoor plumbing for the win! There is no A/C, so in the summer it gets a little warm inside, but they provide fans to circulate air through (and it cools waaaaay down at night, making it very comfortable). I would imagine it gets pretty chilly in the winter, but they have heating solutions. Overall it was a great place to stay, and at an incredible price! We'd definitely stay again if we were back in the area.
