IF YOU WANT TO GET AWAY FROM THE HUSTLE AND BUSTLE
What you see is definitely what you get with this property and more!! We rented 5/8 through 5/17/08 and enjoyed the property so much. There are country roads perfect for walking, a huge fireplace that sets the tone for intimate talks or group conversation. Enough room to have a music jam - there is a wonderful piano which tapped my hidden ability. A large kitchen with an island to bring the whole family together and enough bedrooms to give everyone their space if it is needed. We found this property to be very clean, very comfortable, had all of the items you could possibly need to stay, and the owner's were wonderful to deal with. Just bring your food and personal items. In fact, I found out that I knew one of them from growing up in Barre!! The porch balcony you see in the picture is off the master bedroom and was our morning space for coffee and waking up or for the final glass of wine at night - the sound of the babbling brook can't be beat. There is a sunroom that we found to be a great place for evening conversation if the night was a little warm for a fire. Even with such a wonderful place we did venture out to eat - Sarducci's in Montpelier was great Italian! Also try The Steak House on the Barre-Montpelier Rd - we enjoyed our meal a lot. We would recommend visiting Ben & Jerry's for their tour; note there is no tasting on Tuesday's. We enjoyed it - especially the free samples. And please go to Bragg Farm for your maple syrup needs - yum. Try to make a stopover trip to Stowe, get out, walk around. There are some very nice shops - expensive, but nice for browsing. And you have got to go to the Vermont Sugarhouse in Royalton for breakfast, hearty Vermont fare!! The only drawbacks we found was the area itself. There was limited grocery stores or shopping centers in the area, so be sure to get what you need before you return to the property and expect to pay more than maybe what you are used to. Resturants tended to close very early - earlier than we are used to in our city. And the choice of restaurants was very limited as well which was probably the reason we did a lot of cooking in and grilling!! Don't shy away from this property - this property is as beautiful as the pictures and you will not regret giving it a stay.
