Perfect Location for Exploring Asheville
We loved our stay at the Cottage on Parkway Loop! The Cottage is beautiful inside and out - it is clear that the renovation was thoughtfully done. The location was near to everything we wanted to see in Asheville but still felt like staying in the forest - waking up to the birds chirping and the sun coming through the trees was such a treat! The Cottage was clean when we arrived and everything was as described. We really appreciated the little thoughtful touches in the Cottage as well - the small library, the hair dryer and ironing board/iron, the coffee and tea - Tim and Muffi thought of everything! Communication before, during and after our stay was very efficient and convenient, as well. We will definitely recommend the Cottage to any friends and family looking to visit Asheville! Although the Cottage provides all the cookware you would need to cook your own meals, we did find a few great restaurants to try if you're in the area. Tim and Muffi recommended The Local Joint, which is just a few miles up the road from the Cottage. It was affordable and the food was quite good - we went for dinner and I was pleased with the Grilled Chicken Salad while my husband raved about the Tuesday taco special. We also would recommend Tupelo Honey Cafe downtown - we went for breakfast and it was our favorite meal of the trip. I had the sweet potato pancakes and my husband had the chicken and biscuits - everything was great! Downtown is only a 15-minute or so drive from the cottage, as is the Biltmore. The Blue Ridge Parkway is practically within walking distance of the cottage as well. Aside from the upper elevations of the Parkway, the GPS on our phones led us flawlessly to every destination we visited. The Cottage is a great home base for exploring all that Asheville has to offer!
