We stayed at this property for 7 nights. It is well located if your interests are consistent with the activities in the south part of the island. If you intend to spend more time north of Captain Cook you may find the drive back and forth tedious. The house’s greatest attribute is the large living room and kitchen which is equipped with many common cooking utensils including a hot water pot for tea. The furniture in the living room was a little worn but was comfortable. The bed in the turquoise room was nice and very comfortable. We found the condition of the house consistent with a three star hotel. It was not as clean as I would have liked, for example; there was mildew in the bathroom. In addition the free beach chairs were rusty or mildewed and the coolers were not clean. The kitchen counter and cabinets were a little sticky and the some of the items were not clean. We were a little disappointed to learn that the property is not really a commercially viable farm since we had looked forward to seeing a farm in operation. Maybe in the future this will change. Some of the items that Nikki represents to exist when we rented the house did not exist like a kitchen stocked with seasoning. The seasoning was meager a little stale and for the most part was not usable. Nikki advertised that she had exercise equipment which we found to be in poor condition, the inversion table was badly rusted, the exercise balls were moldy and the yoga mats were well used. To Nikki’s credit she has modified her description to remove some of these representations. Nikki was pleasant however not particularly hospitable for example the day before we scheduled to leave I asked her for a roll of toilet paper because were down to the last one. She did give me an extra roll but she also told me that she expected guest to supply any toilet paper in additional to the 2 rolls that she supplies. It seemed petty in light of the fact the nearest store is about 10 miles and we were leaving the next day. You may also want to bear in mind that the location for getting drinkable water is also 10 miles away and you will need $1.25 in quarters to fill the bottle if you use the 10 gallons provided, just remember to bring quarters because ACE hardware told us that their store policy was not to give change (but they were nice enough to help us out.) Keep in mind that you need this water to brush your teeth and cook with since the property does not have treated water.
