Fantastic location, superb apartment and host
The apartment was right down at the waterfront in Toronto, looking onto the lake with an amazing view, over to the island. We spent many happy evenings watching the world go by (and the little planes from the city airport), firstly from the indoor balcony, and as the weather warmed up, from the outside one. Natalia couldn't have been more helpful in the lead up to our trip - she provided every bit of information that we needed, including the layout plan as we had three children with us, so she wanted to ensure that we were happy that there were only two bedrooms. We had planned to have someone sleep in the sitting room, but our boys preferred to share the smaller room, so we were all very happy. The apartment had everything a family (or couple) could need - a big washing machine and tumble dryer to keep ourselves up to date with washing, great kitchen facilities and loads of storage space. The swimming pool within the building was a huge bonus to our three very energetic children when it was so cold outside. The location was right opposite a streetcar stop, and for anything that we couldn't walk to (which wasn't very much at all), we got the streetcars and subway very easily. The apartment had several excellent grocery stores - one right across the road, and one less than 5 minutes walk away, as well as loads of places to eat and drink within a few blocks. Almost everything we wanted to visit was walkable (some fairly long walks), but we took streetcars partly for the fun! The CN tower being so close was amazing too - another great view in the evenings as the colours changed, as well as being close to the baseball stadium - it really felt like we were right at the centre of things, but so many floors up that it wasn't noisy. We knew that there were children in neighbouring apartments, but the sound proofing was excellent so there was no noise at all from any other apartments. I couldn't recommend this apartment highly enough. I'm only sorry that I forgot to come back and review it straight away (sorry Natalia!), but we had an amazing three week stay here, and if we ever make it back over to Toronto (fingers crossed) we would have no hesitation in staying there again. Just fantastic.
