New family tradition
Swallows nest has become a family retreat tradition! I moved home to Nova Scotia with my husband last year and we have a 6 month old daughter. Our first trip to Swallow's Nest was when our little girl was 4 days old. We were back again in February and just celebrated Easter there. There are so many reasons why we plan to make trips to this house a part of our family tradition. The space is large enough for the grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends (and our dog!). There is something to do for everyone. The grounds are beautiful for walking year-round and the hosts are very friendly and welcoming to their farm. This is not a conventional space- three beds and two sofas are in one large shared room (with dividers for some privacy). There are also two private bedrooms in addition to the large shared sleeping space. The Sauna is beautiful and there are two common-areas that are great for sitting around to talk, enjoy a fire, or play games. This is a true escape, a space where you can slow down and enjoy the people you are with. The house is also minutes away from main street Wolfville, which is a beautiful little university town with cafes, restaurants, shops, and entertainment. I can't say enough good things about this space. All the little details -- the house is very clean, the beds are made, there are plenty of towels and linens, all the cooking utensils you could need are there along with a huge fridge and fantastic and easy to use gas stove.
