Nautical Nest meets and exceeds expectations
We really enjoyed our stay at The Nautical Nest in New Buffalo, Michigan. We were traveling with a group of 8, including 4 kids, so we made use of all of the bedrooms. The kids loved the bunkroom, which had some books and games in the closet - a nice surprise. The adults were wowed by the kitchen - beautiful counters, ample pots and pans, and a dishwasher that actually accommodated wine glasses. If you've rented houses before you'll know that when someone says that their kitchen is stocked it might mean an ancient container of salt and a few drops of vegetable oil. This was much more like what you'd expect at your own home - salad dressings, olive oil, even seasonings. 2 bathrooms worked well for our families and nobody ever stole the hot water from anybody else. Wifi worked well. It was very hot during the day and buggy at night, so we didn't make a ton of use of the outdoor spaces aside from drying swimsuits (although we did grill/firepit one night and were happy to see that all of those materials were on hand, as well). We utilized the included beach pass and used the loading zone right outside the beach to drop off people and supplies from our second car. The second car could park right over the bridge (short walk) as all of downtown appears to be 3 hour parking, non-metered, so don't worry about only having one pass. Edan was wonderful to work with. Communication was very fast and helpful. Area highlights for us were the beach, Oink's, and the Mike's Blueberries. 6 lbs. of blueberries were never eaten so fast. The big advantage to this rental over some others is that the family has actually stayed there so time and thought has been put into what would make their stay better (a small vacuum in the kitchen for crumbs, beach toys, a beach umbrella) and those benefits are passed along to you, the renter. If we headed up to New Buffalo again, we would definitely stay here. Book with confidence.
