My family of 5 stayed in this unit 2 nights in July. We knew nothing about this town when we rented but Carpinteria is a cute sleepy beach town with everything you need right nearby--grocery, restaurants, ice cream place etc. I never could've gotten this much space for this price in santa barbara. This unit is only a block to the beach--great location. The unit is pretty much as pictured- maybe a little more worn than I expected. And the complex itself is a little more cheaply put together than I expected but overall---just fine. There is no air conditioning but apparently the nights we were there was unusually hot. I mentioned to the owner that we needed some more pots and a skillet. As of now just one big pot with a lid that doesn't fit and a tiny egg skillet. Lots of dishes however and plenty of coffee to use. Upstairs is kind of a loft situation so that sound travels right up the stairs. I was glad we had our sound machine with us. There is a twin bed nestled under the stairs which helped us alot. We had 2 upstairs, 2 in sofa bed, 1 in twin--and it worked fine. Owner provides 4 huge beach towels, umbrella, a few beach chairs and a few sand buckets--they were very nice to have. We did drive into Santa Barbara one evening but realized we had what we needed in Carpinteria. The beach there is great....soft sand nice width. For the price--you can't beat the location and Lisa, the owner, was very attentive and immediately replied to my texts.
