Wondeful Cabin with warmth and charm
Westcott Woods lived up to my expectations and then some. Built from reclaimed wood and carefully expanded upon in years past, the cabin has a unique warmth and feel to it that I've never found in your more standard accommodations. Taking in the surroundings with my other two 30-something friends, I couldn't help but want to pull out my guitar, read a book or just relax by the wood stove while enjoying a glass of wine. And while not right on the water, the view of Westcott Bay from the cabin is stunning. After a hike up Young Hill, a drive to American Camp and a walk along the docks at Roche Harbor, my friends and I found no better place to kick back and relax than in the adirondack chairs in the evening sun overlooking the bay. While there was a nice flat-screen TV in the living room, it was never turned on - there was too much atmosphere to soak in. In short, the trip to the cabin felt like taking a step back in time, where good food, good friends and great conversation were all that was need to be entertained and return home with a joyful glow.
