Beautiful getaway with spectacular and breathtaking waterfront views, more than we expected!!!
After 14 years in Washington DC, my wife and I (w/ 2 kids & 2 small dogs) decided to pack everything up and move to the Northwest. Loren's exclusive getaway on the waterfront was the perfect place for us to stay as we awaited moving into our new home in Gig Harbor. The experience from the scenic drive to the house tucked behind beautiful landscaping, to the walk down the gently sloping stone stairs through the front entrance, past the kitchen and dining area, into a living area that faced a vast waterfront and mountain view framed by large pines through enormous picture windows, ...was-truly-BREATHTAKING! Our whole family just stood there, jaws open, taking in the idyllic landscape, and we realized at that moment, that we made the right decision to move to the Pacific Northwest ...that we were home. Words cannot describe how amazing the place is, you can tell that the cabin has been with the family for years and has been well taken care of, little things like tastefully decorated rooms, noticeable personal touches, and a lived-in feel. It has that warm cabin coziness, a log a-frame construction with log ceiling beams, vertical log walls, and hardwood floors (we truly apologize for the small spill stain) throughout the living, dining and master bedroom spaces, all under the guise of a seemingly normal-looking home on the exterior. Then there's the noticeable upgrades over the years, such as the updated kitchen and bathroom, front load washer and dryer, and stainless appliances. An amazing master bedroom with step down stairs, tons of closet space, floor to ceiling windows, and an expansive wrap around deck with stairs leading down to a fenced in yard that slopes down to the edge of the property and the fence line, overlooking a 30 ft cliff leading down to a narrow beach and the waterfront. The height of the property from the waterfront only enhanced the stellar views from the back of the house. Over the 10 days we stayed there, we fell in love with the house, its location, and the views. Almost daily, there would be some sort of activity down in the canal (Hood Canal), from a procession of submarines or military vessels and boats, to a group of ducks jostling for position on the waterfront. Our experience there was a great one that will forever remind us of the first time we moved to the PNW. We thank Loren for sharing her home with us, and plan to return again someday. P.S. For you runners, hikers, and bikers out there, this place is perfect!
