Exactly what we wanted. A perfect getaway for my wife and I.
My wife and I went to this little place for a week and we loved it. I was happy to find that it was just far enough out of town that we felt the solitude that the desert provides (incredible sunrises and sunsets). I had some writing that I wanted to do and was pleased to have internet access. My wife couldn't have been more content with her book and the quiet. The cooking facilities are good and the grill out back is great. There's a nice, old-time refrigerator for groceries and a little 'fridge for brewskies. Access to the loft is killer with a pulldown staircase and the distinct feeling of a treehouse. There's also a little mini-cabin about 30 yards off the big patio. The drive to town is 10 to 15 minutes and the Saloon (in Joshua Tree) offers great food and good pours; health food store and restaurants are a block or two away. Stock up and go on out. The shower is great, never ending hot water. The house was nice and clean. This is a great, little hideout and we are planning to come back with friends! The house isn't in a typical neighborhood so you might want to go find it before it's dark out. A fun adventure!
