Clean and comfortable
The property owner is extremely nice and helped us in a pinch when we needed to visit family on Long Island. We had what we needed for our two night stay; however, I wouldn't say the listing is a good representation of the property. The photo of the living/sleeping quarter is no longer how the space is. The room consisted of a bed, love sofa, night stand, and broken floor lamp. There was no TV, mirror - nothing else. We were not offered wifi as stated in the property description, and there was no dining area, unless you count the countertop in the kitchen. I would not consider the entrance "private" as the door also leads to the back door of the home in addition to the door to the rental (which is the basement). The only thing I requested the host provide was bath towels, which we were not given. The bathroom door does not close because there is a shoe organizer rack hanging from the top, which hits the door jam. And my biggest criticism is that you cannot lock the door behind you when you leave (you can lock yourself in the room). The rental was clean and comfortable, just a few miles from a subway station. So long as all you need is a pillow to lay your head on at night, it's a great place.
