Perfect house for families and kids!
We stayed at Kincaid Cottage for 6 days, 5 nights in mid-June (2015), and it was perfect in so many ways! It is literally a 10 minute walk to the top of Clifton Hill, and another few minutes down to see the Falls (with a WeGo bus stop along the way. So it's extremely convenient, located close to all the fun spots. And really easy to access/about 2 minutes drive from Rainbow Bridge. The house itself is lovely, very Arts and Crafts. Our party included three single moms (each of us had our own bedroom on the second floor -- really comfortable mattresses, great bed linens and lots of comfy pillows) with four girls between us (ages 8-10). We put all 4 girls upstairs, and they loved the attic-style loft bedroom. Half the time they shared the queen size bed, and other times they built forts and slept in bags on the floor. But it was their space, and we had our space. We also saved a lot of money by cooking in (that even included grilling steaks and chicken on the gas grill in the backyard, easy to use), and the kitchen was fully equipped. Dining room table easily sits 8, and we even used the washer/dryer. House has central air, and the attic room has an additional air conditioner, so we were all very comfortable. Girls even spent some down time on the front porch outside Our host David couldn't have been nicer ... talked to him several times by phone, texted when we hit the bridge, he met me at the house and handed over the keys. We had one mishap (something fell into the bathroom sink and it clogged up overnight). I called David that morning, we left to explore town, and by the time we got home that afternoon the sink was cleared. And he was really nice about it. The owners are very responsive and lovely (apparently they also run some b-n-bs in town, so get in touch if having someone else cook breakfast is more your speed :). The neighborhood is a bit on the transitional side, but I felt totally comfortable walking home late at night with the kids, and there are some great places nearby. Be sure to buy your veggies and meats at Lococo down the street, and there is a great gelato place that we visited more than once. As Americans, the exchange rate was definitely in our favor, so all in all an extremely fun, comfortable and inexpensive vacation with friends. It's a nice-sized house with everything you need in a great location -- don't waste your money on a hotel. If we return to Niagara Falls, I would definitely rent this house again! Martha
