A millionaires' view in a comfortable, nicely furnished house
This house sits on a hillside looking across Bay St. Lawrence and out to Money Point and to Sable Island in the Gulf. The sun rises over the Gulf and fills the house with light. At night there's no light pollution to speak of and the starry sky is overwhelming. Upstairs and downstairs balconies are great spots to look out from, as is the yard. The house itself is modern, new, spacious enough for a family of 4 or 5 or group of friends, comfortable, well furnished with nice amenities, all easy to use. The property sits midway between Bay St. Lawrence and Meat Cove, both beautiful and with much to see and do, including hikes and whale watching. A beach is close by for swimming or beachcombing. Darrell's brother Dale lives a short distance from the house and when we needed more propane for the BBQ he got it for us very quickly. The place is about 20 minutes by car to the Cabot Trail. There's no gas stations off the Trail, so be sure to fill up. The Coop grocery in Bay St. Lawrence has a limited selection, so again shop before arriving. We had bikes, but the road is gravely, breezy and hilly, so a bit hard for our young son. We were disappointed that the fishing season was over and we couldn't buy off the boats, but a couple different people in Bay St. Lawrence got us flash frozen halibut and cod, which were very tasty. The people there are very hospitable and open. It's a long drive for us from our home in New Haven, CT, but we would definitely and very happily return!
