The house was nice.
It was clean, spacious, formally furnished and the white tile bathroom was splendid. And I welcomed the new piano. The location downtown was a big plus -- a 4-block walk to State St. and what became our routine morning coffee at a pretty authentic French Patisserie & Bistro. The handyman next door looks after the house, was available to answer questions and promptly took care of some minor fixes. It was nice to have a laundry in the basement. The owner was accommodating, helpful and courteous. Some minor drawbacks: The lighting for reading in the living room was not as good as we needed, so we contributed a table lamp. We needed to devise temporary curtains to darken the bedroom from some city lights at night as we are country dwellers where nights are dark. A second bar stool at the nice kitchen bar would have been useful. All in all a pleasant stay for the month.
