Cozy house at University grounds- a perfect stay!
We travelled to Arcata for the HSU Spring Preview. We selected this house based on the pics not realizing it was actually in University grounds. We loved every minute of our stay. This is a restored house with a historical charm. The living room has a fireplace and comfortable couches overlooking a large yard. The windows glass seem to be the original due to their uneveness. The kitchen is very spacious with all modern amenities yet making you feel you are in a 100 year old farmhouse. The 3 bedrooms are in separate corners of the house which add to the privacy. The house decor looks like one of those taken from an interior design magazine. Plenty of open space in the front and back yards- we were surprised to see lemon and fig trees! Teresa made sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. We loved the welcome flowers and the communication. We got our park permit which allowed us to park on the street without problems. Easy parking. We felt very safe - the area was constantly being monitored by police. The property is walking distance from good restaurants. We did use the car to go downtown as it is a little further than a mile. The house is on a hilly area and a block away from the Community Park -the home of a redwoods grove and several walking trails. The redwoods can be seen from the house back yard by the way. We were very pleased with the stay! Thanks Teresa for making the house you grew up available to others!
