Cozy and Quiet in the winter
My boyfriend and I wanted to get out of the city and unwind before Christmas, and this cabin is perfect for that. Clean and comfortable, it's the perfect size for two people. No cell service and no wifi (available at the cafe a 5 minute drive away) made for a very peaceful and cozy stay. We brought our own groceries and cooking ware and I'm glad we did because the general store only had staples and a lot of prepackaged stuff, and there are only a couple of basic pots and pans in the cabin, but it comes equipped with a full fridge, induction stove, oven, coffee maker and microwave. I cook A LOT so this was important for me. It snowed the first night there and got pretty frosty inside before we lit a fire, so I would suggest bringing plenty of warm clothes, slippers and extra blankets for the nights. Once we had a fire going it warmed up quickly and made hiking in the snow on the various trails around camp Nelson extra enjoyable. I'd love to come back during the summer and experience more wildlife and maybe stargazing as well, but for a snowy/rainy, cuddle-by-the-fire, stay-inside sort of vacation, this is exactly what we needed.
