Hollywood Hideaway met all my rental expectations, which doesn't always happen! The big bonus was: it was only 4 blocks to where my daughter and son-in-law just moved. I like being on the second floor, so that I never hear noise above me. The bedroom is located at the back of the building, and is quiet, although it seems to be a pretty quiet street anyway. The things I look for in a rental? Good wifi, washer and dryer, good sized television with comfortable living room furniture, full functional kitchen, nice bathroom (the TUB is brilliant...one of those nice old fashioned soaking tubs) good location, comfortable bed, there are closets in this unit like you would not believe. I really like the layout: the bedroom is removed from the active part of the apartment, and the bathroom is not right off the bedroom, but down the hall a short distance which is great for quiet (again with the quiet) if you are sharing a bed. The kitchen is excellent. I could cook a Thanksgiving dinner there. This unit is a treat for the eyes in a vintage/modern/West Elm sort of way. And CLEAN. The unit can be accessed either with a door code at the back door, or a set of provided keys for the front door. I used the code, which I prefer, and this was sent to me before my arrival. Communication was quick and concise. The weather was brutally hot during my visit, and the ac unit kept the bedroom nice and cool. The parking spot in front of the garage in back of the building is prime, and easy to drive in and out. I hardly used my car, however, because we ended up using Uber, and the neighborhood has some great restaurants, bars and a bodega or two. I like a walking neighborhood. HINTS: Parking on the street is a challenge, if you have guests driving a car. Use Uber. Check out Osteria La Buca, (yum) the Edmon bar, and Antequera de Oaxaca. Thanks, Michael.
