Excellent Value at Armory Park
I had a very good experience staying at the Armory Park Studio/Cottage. My son is at U of A which is just a mile or two away, so within easy driving distance or even within biking distance - it's flat and the owners can usually offer a complimentary bike [with lock] to use. Parking around the University can be difficult or expensive. The downtown Tucson area is probably a 15 minute walk away. The studio is much like a little cottage and so offers great privacy and is well equipped for all basic needs - nothing fancy and no frills [although coffee, cream and sodas are provided] and well maintained. The owners are friendly, knowledgable and helpful. I prefer a place and a location with a little character rather than a "corporate"-style hotel room, so the Studio provides a very economic alternative to a hotel chain! The Desert Museum is definitely worth a visit - not your typical museum! I plan to return again.
