We enjoyed our stay at this property. It's convenient to Stone Mountain and Greyson Highlands - two of our favorite places. And the drive to W. Jefferson is short, so heading to town for a meal or open mic night at the hotel tavern is convenient. The upstairs bedroom is so very special. The light, the rustic feel, the custom windows - just a wonderful space. The owner was very prompt to respond to our initial reservation request and other questions later. There's no mobile phone reception, but the wifi works great. Our main disappointment was the outdoor grill. It's a campsite type metal grill - there was moss growing in the charcoal chamber and it looked like we would need to do a good bit of cleaning before using it. Also, a general sense of the need for some general maintenance was present. The gazebo in front had collapsed and the back steps from the second floor bedroom were in need of repair. Not sure why the owner asks for a $1500 security deposit, but it was refunded as soon as I reminded him to do so.
