It was good for fishing but not for romance
We came up and spent the New Years weekend at the cabin. I thought it to be a quiet little get away. Perfect for anyone that is not me or my girlfriend however. The furnace was somewhat complicated as the pilot went out and we luckily were able to borrow a screw driver from our neighbors to unscrew the grate to light the pilot. We got it lit but the furnace was too hot for the little cabin and made the upstairs unbearable, no pun intended. She wouldn't go up and opted for pullout bed on the couch which hurt my back. I tried the fan but she hated it and refused to stay up there, the intense heat caused me to dry out and I became sick. The owner should consider writing instructions for the furnace, I assume the fan was there to help with the heat but that didn't fly over to well of heat and fan combo. The kitchen was a well kept area, small but much to work with in terms of cooking tools. I thought it was very nice. The bathroom was adequate for our height and size , wish the water could be as warm as faucets got, toilet works effectively. There's a dinner table that seats two and satellite tv with little to watch except Comedy Central and a ton of televangelico programs. A rocking chair was a nice touch though weak. The spiral staircase needs screw tightening on the rail. The deck is good for grilling. I feel it may make a better summer cabin than winter but overall, cute and welcoming. If you are a fisherman into bears and tv this is for you, maybe not for a romantic getaway. I did like looking out at the stars at night in the bed. It's about 45-50 away from Asheville which is a fun place with great food, beer and is progressive to the max. Worth going to for bit. The cabin is near some awesome hiking trails and I recommend taking them. I would go back to the area, had a good time, and enjoyed the beautiful smoky mountains.
Cozy Cabin at a GREAT price*****
