The property is nice, comfortable, and clean. The condo is part of a well-renovated school building. There is on-site parking. It is well-located to experience South Haven's restaurants and shops on foot. It is a little bit of a walk to the beach, and parking was scarce around the beach, shops, and restaurants during the busy July 4 holiday. I recommend the property to future guests. We had a little issue about arrival and access to the building. Guests need a key fob to enter the building. Prior to arrival, I had no guidance on this. The owner is not on site, and comes to the property to meet guests to give them the fob, a fact I did not know until I arrived. We had traffic delays on the way, and had no telephone number for the owner to call and tell him. I did not realized that he was driving from somewhere else, and expected us to meet him at a specific time, which is a difficult objective for someone traveling a distance in heavy traffic. When we arrived late (again, I did not know we had a specific time), the owner had given up and left, and had to return. I am respectful of other people's time, and when I realized what happened, I was uncomfortable. On the other hand, the owner should realize that what is clear to him is not clear to people who have never been there. All this should be clarified and discussed prior to arrival to prevent future similar issues, and the guest should have the owner's cell phone number to call about an hour out, and advise of impending arrival. A telephone conversation between the guest and owner a day or so before arrival to coordinate the hand over would help.
