Great view, good quiet location
Our family of three stayed here for a week and thoroughly enjoyed it. The house is walking distance to the shops and restaurants, although it's a few blocks uphill to get back. The neighborhood is mostly quiet older homes in a residential area. This house sits near the street, and the owners' house is set back behind it. The owners (Jane and Melvin) and very sweet and they have a few cats you'll see around the yard (as well as lots of birds and a mongoose who lives near the backyard). The bird sounds were lovely! The view of the water from the living room and front yard is amazing; you can see everything. The house has a front yard with a great view, BBQ, patio set with umbrella, and two lovely plumeria trees. Behind the house is a washer and dryer, which were a nice surprise. There's one parking spot in the gravel driveway, and you could squeeze a second car behind or on the street if needed. The inside of the house is clean and freshly painted, with older kitchen and bath. The kitchen is small but functional, and the bath has a pretty small shower but everything works. The three bedrooms are a decent size and worked well for us. There is no A/C but the ceiling fans work well and the louvered windows allow lots of nice breezes. The afternoon sun makes it pretty hot inside the house, so just plan to spend afternoons at the beach :) My only suggestion for the owners would be to stock the kitchen with some basic cooking supplies (salt, pepper, cooking oil, etc). There was plenty of paper towels, bags, and cleaners which was great. There was a bit of an ant problem in the kitchen while we were there, but apparently that comes with the season (we were here in February). Just plan to keep all food in the fridge. Or eat at restaurants :D
