As advertised, but need several improvements
We stayed for 5 days in this apartment. The location is excellent, and the owner provided lots of useful information, water, snacks and toiletries, but the apartment is disappointing in several ways. The entrance to the building is through a steel gate that hasn't been painted in decades. The entrance hall is dominated by large trash cans and grubby tile, and the elevator also hasn't been painted in decades. But the elevator works. The room is pretty much as advertised, but the bathroom is not good enough at this price. The sink is tiny. There is no place to put anything down except the back of the toilet. The clawfoot tub has been badly repainted, and when taking a shower, you have to fight constantly with the shower curtain. Even with the curtain, we could not avoid spreading water all over the floor. Washcloths were not provided - just bath towels and just one skimpy hand towel. We expect to bring our own washcloths in Europe, but not in the US. The apartment floor seriously needs a couple of rugs as it is cold. We were happy to discover the white noise machine in the apartment, because the building and the street are very noisy.
